Foot care

Feet carry us through our entire lives. Every day they are exposed to the burdens of standing up or sitting down for longer periods of time, excessive weight, unsuitable and tight footwear, insufficient movement or care.

Our feet had been covered in warm socks and cramped in high boots through most of the winter. Now comes the time to bare our skin and wear open footwear, inevitably exposing our feet and nails. In order to show them off proudly and with confidence, we have to ensure proper care. Foot care should become part of our daily routine, as much as face care and cleaning our teeth are. Moreover, treat your feet with warm, refreshing baths, aromatic balms, relaxing massages, and rest.

Everyday care prevents difficulties that become serious problems, such as: dry, rough and hard skin, blisters, calluses and corns, excessive sweating, fungal infections, inverted nails and diabetic foot.

Did you know that…?

Walking is the basic form of human movement, often kept out of our everyday life due to the growing number of means of transport and a sedentary lifestyle of the modern world. Experts claim that 10.000 step per day are necessary to maintain fitness and good health.

Quick advice:

  • Movement is the most important factor to keep your legs in shape. It maintains the ability of the muscle, ligament, and the vascular system. When your possibilities of movement are limited, you can stretch your legs while sitting down (for example, circle, rock or roll them, among other things), walk around your house barefoot, do sports activities.
  • Footwear should be spacious, comfortable, airy and with quality soles. Do not buy shoes in the morning for your feet will swell somewhat during the day. Buy them after midday. Wear high heels for only about an hour at a time, if possible.
  • Hygiene can prevent various difficulties, such as sweating, bad smell, infections, wounds, and others. Keeping your feet dry is very important. Dry the spaces between your toes carefully, change moist shoes and socks immediately – it is best to use wool and cotton. Wear flip-flops or slippers in public baths, saunas, and hotel rooms. Take care of any infection immediately. Care for your feet every day!
  • Foot care should be as self-evident as face care. With suitable products the skin will be soft, nourished and you will avoid any difficulties. In case of very dry feet, soak in baths and apply cream, twice a day, if necessary.
  • Trim nails in the correct manner. Cut them in a straight line and not too short. Do not round the corners, to avoid inverted nails.
  • Regeneration of tired feet will favour your entire body (baths, feet gymnastics, massage exercises).
  • Check your feet and legs daily. Observe them every day for any change. If necessary, seek professional help.

Feet are the most burdened part of the human body. Unfortunately, we sometimes forget about them, as they hide in our shoes for most of the year, not paying enough attention to their care throughout the year and to the fact that they carry us through our entire lives. Unfortunately, we only start paying attention when we are facing a problem.

Foot care is, therefore, encouraged for every moment of every day, to relieve and revitalize them after the burdens and pains we have faced throughout the day. Treat yourself to a nice bath, a massage, or improve the circulation in your legs and feet.
